Ethical Statement
From the American Tarot Readers Association:
I will serve the best interests of my clients, conducting my professional activities without causing or intending to cause harm.
I will treat all my clients with equal respect, regardless of their origin, race, religion, gender, age, or sexual preference.
I will represent honestly my Tarot qualifications, including educational credentials, levels of certification and experience.
I will keep confidential the names of clients and all information shared or discussed during readings, unless otherwise requested by the client or required by a court of law.
I will recommend clients consult a licensed professional for advice of a legal, financial, medical, or psychological nature that I am not qualified to provide.
I will respect my clients’ right to refuse or terminate their reading at any time, regardless of prior consent.
Hi there! Thank you for choosing to have a Tarot reading with Broad Street Tarot. Before we begin, I'd like to quickly go over my code of ethics. I consider myself an ethical Tarot reader and my goal is to help empower you in your own life. I don't give medical, financial or legal advice; but I can ask the Tarot what might do or be aware of to help you get through a difficult medical, financial or legal situation. I'll protect your confidential information and won't share your reading with anyone without your say so…unless I'm legally obligated to do so. I don't put curses on people and I don't "remove" curses from you. I'm honest and I'll tell you the truth. WARNING: sometimes the truth can be hard to hear. I can't read for minors without their parent's or guardian's consent or for third parties. (Reading for a third party means if "Jane" books a reading to specifically ask, "What should Bob do?" I can't do a Tarot reading for Bob if Bob isn't my client.) If we're having a face to face or Zoom reading; you can stop at anytime. Just like my clients, I too, can terminate a reading at any time for whatever reason.
In short:
I don't give medical, financial or legal advice
I'm committed to your confidentiality; unless someone's safety is jeopardy (that includes yours).
No "curses", "bad energy", "bad ju-ju" or the like
I promise to tell you the truth; I can't promise it's going to be what you want to hear.
No minors unless there is a legal guardian present
No third party readings
Topics I won't read on…well, I never say never; but I reserve my right to refuse any reading
The client can end the reading at any time
Lastly, I want your Tarot reading to empower you! Remember that you have free will and you are not a helpless victim of the universe. You have power, let's use it!
